Recommend me a leather band for my Montblanc Timewalker

    Hi,

I posted this question on the Montblanc section, but haven't received a response, so may try there.

The 2nd leather band on my Montblanc Timewalker has unglued itself once again so I can't wear it (actually I haven't been wearing it for over 6 months). And I don't want to buy another genuine one.

Can someone recommend me a watch band, leather or otherwise that you think is durable and looks good.

I'd like to use the original buckle, so I don't need a buckle.

I believe the watch is 22mm band at the lugs, and 20mm at the buckle. I will have to double check when I get home.

I have pretty small wrists too, if that makes a difference.

I'm in Australia, so will most likely buy online/ebay.

I have tried to get recommendations for specific watches without a lot of success. I think black ostrich would look good. To me, it's a nice balance between dressy and sporty.

If you wanted a strap close to the original style, the Di Modell Rallye is a good choice

Try this ostricH leg, only with more subtle stitching in black or white

Nice. Also looks like you don't need to worry about glue. Does the stitching support the channel for the spring bar or is it cosmetic? Is it available with black stitching?

Lots out there to choose from. A nice matte black alligator or croc (real or print) would look great with white accent stitching. Look at some by Hirsch, Hadley-Roma as well as the Di-Modell suggestion.

Look at the sticky at the top of this forum for a list of on line strap vendors.

You might also look over watchbandcenter.com. They are located in Germany but ship worldwide and very good customer service as well as a wide selection.

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Not a fan of the di modell rallye as I want to use the original buckle.

I do like the ostrich leg leather from MK leather Grover.

I'll take a look at the recommended sites nokie. That's part of the problem nokie, too much to choose from! lol

I think I'm going to go for non calf leather with some texture on the grain. Maybe croc/gaitor but the ostrich one looks very appealing!

I would also check out The StrapSmith Rob Montana has straps that are made to last years, he has quite a few on his Sale section ready to go right now. http://www.thestrapsmith.com/ready_built_sale

If you're in Australia, see if there's anything you like from Bas and Lokes Bas and Lokes tapered handmade leather watch straps based in Sidney.
