Rover Haven - Horween Shell Cordovan Gallery

Rover Haven - Horween custom designed watch straps, by Myron Erickson are a must own for any watch owner.

I caught the watch strap bug years ago, but it's been about a year since I've found the custom watch strap addiction. I added up my custom watch strap purchasing in the past year and have spent almost $1,500 on custom watch straps. This isn't to boast or brag, but has been worth every penny. Prior to my custom addiction I would waste, yes waste, my hard earned watch budget on overpriced OEM and mass produced watch straps. I paid a lot of "tuition" learning from my past watch straps purchases.

Almost a year to the date, I came across Myron's thread on one of WUS, send him a PM...and now I have a secondary addiction to Rover Haven Horween Shell Cordavan watch straps. It's a healthy addiction that I encourage everyone to try.

There are a lot of great watch strap makers from all of the world, each with their unique style. However, there is only a small group of makers that add in customer service, short lead-times, design advice, top notch materials, unique style to his designs, and makes the overall process fun. Myron at Rover Haven is at the top of this smaller group of strap makers that I would highly recommend.

Enough words, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Here is my Rover Haven "original" this is well loved, even borrowed to my dad for a while and well conditioned with Obernauf LP started as Natural Shell Cordovan.
    - On an SM 300, since sold to watch friend, but have my own on the way!

    - On an IWC Mark XVI, also since sold...but to a good home.

Second 4-stitch Natural Shell Cordovan (sold with the watch)
    - On an Explorer 14270, since sold

    Shell Cordovan #8 (amazing leather).
    - On an Omega Speedy Date 40mm, still own this one.

T or minimal stitch on Walnut Shell Cordovan.
    - On a Hamilton Khaki Auto

    - on an SMP 2254

22mm #8 Shell Cordovan Tudor Black Bay. The slight red in the dark leather really complimented the dial. Yes...I traded this one too.

    - on Bell & Ross BR 123

I miss wearing the gnarly 22mm #8 strap more!

I will be adding a Bell & Ross 123 Sport Heritage to "The List".

Is it normal to buy a watch to fit a strap?

I have a rotation if 4, two-piece straps, and a couple in waiting until I get a 22mm lug width watch.

Some of them I let wear as Mother Nature intended. Other shell straps, especially the natural, I use Obenauf's LP to condition and darken. That stuff is amazing!

    This....

    Turns into this!
