I love the look and practicality of deployment clasps. They fasten easier, they help preserve the straps for longer and they simply look good on most straps.
My main problem with the typical aftermarket butterfly clasp is that most often they combined with the length of the strap and the size of my wrist , they rarely are a good fit, i.e. to straddle the wrist nicely towards the center. As a result, as much as I tried and tried, I always end up tossing them back in the box as they are simply not comfortable enough and that for me is #1. Now I did have a couple that happened to fit OK and the best one by far was a single fold type, which I actually don't have anymore since I sold the watch and it was part of the package.
I was trying thus to find some decent ones, at "affordable" prices, by that I mean no more than ~30-40$ or so but it seems quite a daunting task. While one can find an entire myriad of button-operated butterfly type deployment clasps, from as low as 5$ or so on eBay to better brands, I haven't found anything that fits the bill in the single-fold department. I am not looking for the cheap friction types, those are plenty on eBay but quality is dodgy at best, I am looking for button-operated types only.
I did find a few examples that seem to have the right design and similar to that which was comfortable but of course they come only with branded and pricey watches. Omega for one has their typical single-fold push button ones but of course there's the matter of the price as well as I don't really like how they fit. I am thinking more of some like in the photo-examples below.
Any ideas/leads one where to find something like this would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. I did try quite a few types and mainly wasted my money trying to find the best ones, including RHD, Gnomon, Rios and others , all the butterfly type and all, starting with the highly-praised RHD, I have found uncomfortable/pokey on my wrist, despite good craftsmanship on most. RHD also apparently used to offer their single-fold button operated model in 18 & 20mm but they discontinued it and chose to only offer this 16mm ones which doesn't help me as most watches I own take either 18 or 20mm.
P.P.S Merry Christmas!!!
