    Soft Cloth-like NATOs

Where can I buy NATO straps that are soft and cloth-like? The ones that I have come across have been very stiff nylon and feels like plastic on the wrist. I do have some straps from Timefactors that have the cloth feel, but they seem to have a newer style now and looks very stiff. Just looking for basic gray, green, & navy colors. Has anyone tried the straps from Graham Fowler? Thanks!

Look at Holbens, a vendor on eBay. He carries a varied inventory of Nato stuff.

I've got a couple laying around here somewhere, don't recall them as soft and cloth-like. Love to stop by his shop when I'm in nyc, lots of great stuff.

I have a Fossil that is very cloth-like. Surprised me as I was used to the nylon with varying thickness but none as soft as this one.

Here is a picture of the weave/texture. Mine is blue. (I borrowed the picture from another post)

I was happy with the texture of my Gnommon NATO's. Soft to the touch. Nothing like the super nylon feeling ones. My only grip about those is that they glue the band together instead of stitching it like others.

The ones to avoid IMO are actually the Phoenix brand which are original UK MOD issue. I find them as rough and stiff as sandpaper and the holes are too far apart to get a comfortable fit. I find Zuludiver brand NATOs are pretty soft and comfortable, while still being of high quality.

Our "regular" $12 nylon straps are very soft.

    Re: Soft Cloth-like NATOs

i tend to prefer thicker, heavier duty straps that can wear in a bit...
but for simple, cheap, soft straps the best i have found are the $2 chinese on Ebay.

You can see a bunch here:

    nylon | eBay

Avoid the "Infantry" brand straps if you want soft, as they are especially stiff and plasticky.

Maratac and Dagaz straps are very nice, but are more expensive and will be stiffer that plain cloth to start with.

As you gain durability, you lose comfort...
so it just comes down to finding the right balance for your tastes.

I had a couple from Market Straps that were actually cotton. They weren't the best for water use, but for puttering around, they were the most comfortable thing ever. They felt like worn chino pants material, if that makes sense.
