I would like to know how well a water proof or water resistant leather or croc strap holds up to swimming in pools or the ocean for a short amount of time.

I tried only two waterproof straps, Hirsch Mariner and Di-Modell Chronissimo. My watch normally gets wet several times a day, due to sweat (I live in tropics) or swim.

After few months Mariner looked pretty worn, although still functional. Chronissimo was much better, still looks good (after almost a year). It is expensive though.

I have that strap on my Omega Seamaster! Ironically, I have never worn it in water so have no idea to its water-resistant properties!
