    weekend strap(12-13-08)

Well here is my latest strap.decided to leave the edges natural so i sanded them down and rubbed it with a piece of cardboard to smooth it out. I think it turned out nice that way. This is my second attempt at a sewn in keeper and I really like how they turn out. Feed back would be great. Thanks for looking

    24mm wide
    75mm/135mm
holes start at 55mm from the lug and spaced every 10mm apart

This will be posted in the sales forum soon. so if you are interested keep an eye out for it.

Fantastic! Edges are very professional looking. Just sandpaper and cardboard, huh? The edges look beveled... did you use sandpaper to do that, or some special tool?

i took a razor blade to initially round the edges then sanded it smooth with fine grit paper and finished with cardboard. there is a bevel tool that you can use to round out the edges but I have not gotten one of those yet.

Yeah I know I am working to get those tools. I have very limited funds so as I sell straps I will buy more tools.

that how i did it as well cheff.

the bad part is getting new tools is getting just as addictive as making the straps and buying watches.

i live 400miles from the nearest tandy. thank god their shipping costs are way cheaper than the gas it would cost.

the only problem is they only sell full hides online. which isn't bad i only need to find a hide that will be good enough to sell. because 25 square feet can make a lot of straps.

at least your wife knows waht to get you for x-mas tandy gift certificate.

You would be disappointed to know that the hide selection in the store is not as great as the hide selection online.

hmm i did not know that, but its hard buying leather online thought i have been trying every website to see if the send samples.

some take returns but with shipping costs from canada sometimes not worth it.

and again cheff keep up the good work .
