What is the best GADA watch strap?

    Hello,

I've purchased my Dad a watch for his 60th birthday, the Ball Fireman Enterprise:

I need to find a two piece GADA strap option. My Dad rarely if ever takes his watch off his wrist, so I need to find a strap that is both comfortable and durable. It needs to be something he can do yard work all day and go swimming in, as well as something that looks halfway decent if he is going out to dinner (which is much more rare but does happen). Is there such a strap? He has never worn a steel bracelet in his life, so I don't want to depend on that (although I realize that's typically the best option for this kind of thing). I don't believe he would be interested in any one piece strap options (NATO etc.) either. This is the first watch he has ever owned that was more than $100, so I need to make sure it is a home run. I don't want him to baby it, I want him to (try to) wear it out like he has with every watch prior.

If any of you know of a strap that would fit this criteria please let me know.

    Thanks!

I think the bracelet is your best choice for all the criteria you stated. Maybe get a spare bracelet so he doesn’t worry about scratching it all up?

There’s also always two piece nylon, canvas, and even waterproof leather options. The downside to these straps is that they can get funky if worn constantly....which takes us back to the steel bracelet.

Can't think of one that'd go well with that watch. The watch doesn't exactly scream mow the lawn and go swimming. Bracelet would be my first pick, rubber second, waterproof leather third.

Maybe a mesh bracelet where you have good adjustability to make sure you can get a good fit?

Hirsch Performance water resistant straps, plenty of variations to fit any kind of watches.

I agree with the other posters. Steel is by far the best. Dressy, durable and low maintenance. Rubber is next but not very nice looking.

Normally I'd say a plain black or brown leather strap with matching stitching, not too thick or thin, would fit most occasions except for physical activities. But since it sounds like he will be wearing it more in casual settings, swimming, yard work, then stick with the bracelet.

Agree with going with the bracelet.
If you need a strap I’ve gone through dozens and so far I’ve found the Barton silicon elite straps the best. Very comfortable and the holes are close enough where you can get a near perfect fit for any watch / wrist.

It will be best to alternate between straps, I think you should get a bracelet and rubber strap, that way the watch won't look boring.

Probably a plain smooth rubber/silicon, so it has the look of leather from afar, and the waterproofness of rubber
