There's not enough rose gold for it to be a big issue, IMO. Not maybe my first choice but it should be OK. For the Mako...ugh. Mismatch. Wouldn't go there.
But you miss the point entirely. The solution is, of course, to acquire another watch.
I think this will come down to how dark the strap is, if it screams blue it may overpower the RW. I also believe that it will disappoint on a Mako. I've only had one blue alligator strap and used it on an Enicar Triple Date moon phase with blue date numbers on the chapter ring. The strap was dark and it worked.
Now I have a Ball Trainmaster moon phase with a blue dial and am wondering the same thing you are, will a blue gator work. Currently I use a black Hirsch croc on it.
All you can do is to give it a whirl.
Blue should work fine.
If it is a dark blue, like navy blue it might fly. A brighter blue? No dice on that watch. Brighter blues I feel are pretty sporty and "fun" they would be a mismatch with that straight laced more dress style dial.
Agree. Darker is better when it comes to blue, IMHO.
"Either he's dead or my watch has stopped"
"The only reason for time is so that everything does not happen at once..."
My advice about that is don't buy something JUST BECAUSE it's a good deal. Buy what you want or need.
