I posted this a few days ago..
I am a big Omega fan with 7 Omegas, but wanted to buy my wife a family heirloom watch (as we only have a daughter), and preferred Rolex over Omega for this purpose. We were hoping we could buy the watch during our holiday in Singapore.
Thanks to great advice from WUS forumers including waikeekee and ColinMST, today I bought my wife Rolex Datejust 28mm 'Mother of Pearl' watch with diamond markers.
We had our sights set on the 31mm silver dial, but after visiting a few stores in Sydney decided that the pearl dial was worth paying a little more for, due to its unique dial, but the problem is that Sydney stores had very few watches (the one and only Sydney boutique literally had 8 Lady Datejusts in the entire store) so could not try on the watches we liked on the online catalogue.
Having tried on the watches here in Singapore, my wife liked the more feminine 28mm size, and I had to agree - the smaller dial meant the diamond are closer together and the watch looks much more impressive.
The 28mm on the left vs 31mm on the right.
The perfect watch for my wife.
So thanks again to kind WUS forumers for their great advice. We couldn't be happier!
