For me it's Sea-Dweller, representing my hobby diving + fashion statement + timeless design.

Although perhaps this is self-evident, it really depends on what your plans are for this "one Rolex." Are you getting one Rolex and wearing it forever as your only watch? In that case, an Explorer I or maybe an OP or a toned down Datejust has the most versatility. I honestly think an Explorer I can be worn with anything in any setting - particularly if you're willing to bang it up. Now if you are planning on having only one watch but swapping it out every so often for another "one Rolex" then maybe the better choice would be to march your way through a series of more unusual Rolexes to keep things fresh. The main downside to the Explorer I is that it is so versatile that it can be a bit "routine" as Rolexes go (which can also be a strength!).

    Rolex Oysterquartz

While most folks today think of quartz watches as being souless and cheap, in the 1970's quartz watches were actually more expensive then mechanical watches.

The Rolex calibre 5035 quartz movement was one of the most accurate movements out there in ether quartz or mechanical. It was sent to COSC and approved to wear the famous Rolex Superlative Chronometer on its dial.

I see Subs and other rolex watches all around but only a few Oysterquartz models.

I have a Rolex Calibre 5055 Oysterquartz and I love correcting so called Rolex "experts" who claim it is fake because Rolex never ever ever made a quartz watch (BZZZZ!!! your wrong buddy, they offered quartz models from the late 1970's to 2001)

The movements in these are attractive

Here is a pic from the internet of a Rolex oysterquartz movement.

Even though I love auto racing, I'd rather have a Submariner over a Daytona. I think for me it may be the ultimate watch. My Orange Monster (which I love) will have to hold down the wrist fort until I can save enough pennies for a Sub lol.

I had a 114060, nice watch, but over time it became "jewellery" to me. Which Rolex would I have now? None
