    New or Old.......

I have worn a Submariner ceramic for a number of years now but can't help but feel that the newer model is the ugly relative to the older non ceramic models.

The ceramic model is brutally tough and the bracelet is one if the best on the market, especially with the glide lock adjustment but there's something the non ceramic that really does it for me.

The aluminium bezel ages over time unlike the shiny ceramic of modern which I like, and the case shape (especially the lugs) seems more proportional on the older models.

What are your opinions on the Sub as an everyday wear? Old, or new?

I may be in the minority here but I dislike the pre-ceramic models. Not quite sure why everyone complains about the maxi case. I think the proportions are perfect. Ceramic all the way.

LOL. We posted about the same time.

You’re not alone. Plenty of us here prefer the newer models.

Good to hear you prefer the newer one as well! I think the old ones just have a cheap aesthetic and feel to them. There's no denying that the build quality isn't as good either.

Personally a fan of the older ones due to wearability/size

I had the preceramic models before, they had a great built quality and feel for their time, but the Ceramic models, by comparison, made them feel outdated and of lesser quality. Ceramic all the way, I never look back

    Re: New or Old.......

If it's between a 14060/16610 and the newer ones - I go new every time.

If we go back to 5512/5513/1680 - then it's a completely different story.
