    Next Gen Explorer?

I anticipate that at some point Rolex will upgrade Explorer to a 32xx movement. My question is: what cosmetic changes do you think will accompany the movement upgrade?

Shorter hands and white gold indices at 3,6 and 9.

    Oh hang on.

See any difference through all the generations? Maybe a font change, extra lume, dial size and that's about it. The Explorer is a stalwart like the Submariner & GMT Master - won't change very much. Which is why the Explorer is a good buy as the watch will not look dated like a Datejust or Oyster Perpetual.

Rolex needs to keep this model fresh with tweaks and additional standard equipment every few years, to keep demand bubbling along.

I swear you guys have invaded this place like the plague......don’t you have some kangaroos to chase or some crocs to go wrestle? Isn’t that what you guys do in your spare time? I saw crocodile Dundee....I know what it’s like over there.
    Best Regards,

They don’t. Winter is starting so they just mess with watches now.

    As for OP’s question -

Since the most recent refresh of the Explorer was in 2016, I doubt we will see anything for years. The current model Explorer 214270 (and the 216570 Explorer II) already have the Parachrom Blue spring, the Paraflex shock system, and the latest Chromalight lume. I don’t see any reason for yet another revision and I doubt Rolex does either, since they don’t mess with success very often.

If you’re considering one and are waiting for “updates” I suggest you jump in now. The current model is perfect and sure to become more scarce....and more expensive.

In the winter they sit around drinking telling stories about “the big roo that got away”

    You buy another explorer Hoppy?
