The farther he advanced, the calmer and more self confident he became. That type of discipline made all the difference in the world for him. I think self control with youth is more related to self discipline than anything else which is basically what you’re saying.

Karate and some of the main stream martial arts teach mind over body and self control. Good on you (and good parenting) how you navigated him through those years.
I think music can do the same thing. Our nephew has ADD, it seems, but when I was giving him trombone lessons, he had his moments of gaining real focus and could make progress on a task. I don't know if it's been life-changing for him (only had about a year and a half of teaching him before his family moved to Italy), but the potential was there.

Saw a story on FB from a guy talking about back in grade school when he was always super-fidgety and getting into trouble with the teachers because he couldn't sit still. Finally had an older gentleman as a teacher who asked him to stay after class. When they talked, the teacher reached into his desk and pulled out a pair of drumsticks. Said, "You're not a problem. I think you're a drummer."

Interesting you say the LE wears smaller than the non LE. From these pics the LE looks bigger

So you’re all set for watching Last Breath. You just need your swim trunks, snorkel and a good single malt.
