It seems like a trip to the beach would be the perfect time for you to wear some blingy Rolex. I couldnít imagine you being seen wearing some lowly Seiko at the beach by someone that would have otherwise been impressed by a Rolex.

Are you actually a WIS in disguise? Are you actually a closet Omega wearer? What gives? Honest question.
Forget about Sporty for a moment but why donít you feel the need to wear an inexpensive beater and before you answer what do you consider inexpensive?

    Honest question.

LOL, honest answer: I'm OCD when it comes to my most important possessions. You'll never see a ding or scratch on one of my cars. You'll never see a scuff or a ding on my iPhone. You'll never see dust or marks on my TV's. You'll never see a worn key or a scratch on my computers. Shoes, belts, shirts, pants, jackets, I just take really really good care of my things.

So when it comes to my most beloved and prized possessions- my Rolexes- I go out of my way to protect them from harm. Getting into or out of my cars I am conscious of where my wrist is in relation to door jambs and windows, I actually pull my wrist towards my torso each time so as to have a clean entry or exit. When I reach into a seatback pocket on an airplane or reach in to grab a USB cable in a glove box, I always use my right hand even if the left is more convenient. So when I know I'm going to spend a day on a sandy beach surrounded by kids and touch football and whiffle t-ball and sand castles, that's my nightmare, that's something to be avoided at all costs.

And that's where my trusty beaters come in. Was a Nike and a Luminox for a decade. It's a G-Shock and a Seiko today. They give me peace of mind. Besides, now that my Rolex collection is complete and I yearn for none right now, my cheap beaters allow me to make a purchase, buy some accessories, and feel that tinge of new-watch enthusiasm.

I would love to go in and have at it with those Tudor types, but I don't know who moderates the Public Forum and if he's cool like J71. Might be a different forum but if I get in trouble over there it has its consequences over here as it's one site and one userid.

    So I don't know.....is it safe?

It's OK mate. No need to apologise. The person in question is as tough as nails and is like a cockroach, very hard to kill. He can be a ..... though (like me) which always makes it harder. It's always easier to pity a nice person.
