At the core none of us stand for, what a MOR represents but that’s no reason to let it stop you from using it in a one-liner

So true. Reminds me of another story.

Working in Jakarta and our office was on the 19th floor. One of our guys walked the stairs up and down at least once a day - rarely took the elevator (prob not a bad idea, given Indonesian elevators, but I digress).

Another colleague... overweight if not outright obese, commented one day... why does that guy always take the stairs? He’s rail thin! He doesn’t need the exercise!

Um, he’s fit because he takes the stairs. Any more questions?

    Silence.

Lol, that’s an extreme view. But there does come a point where he’s correct. For most folks, anyways.

I was thinking “Captain of Industry”, but ok, monorail driver, or nuclear control room operator. Potato, tomato.

Another story. When my wife was learning English, she got confused with some of our idioms (understandable) and thought people were saying potato-tomato. Um, close, but not quite! It’s ok, she had ample opportunity to make fun of me with various Indonesian idioms.

Apa boleh buat? Tai kambing bulat-bulat.

When we lived in Houston about 13 years ago, we’d go to cheesecake factory.... two kids at the time grade 1 and preschool. We’d order one entree, one kids menu item and one dessert. That was enough food for the four of us, with plenty for lunch the next day.

It really hits home when watching commercials and TV shows from the early 90's and prior. Holy crap. It's like the evolution of the starship captains in Wall-E.

My wife and I did the same thing at almost any restaurant. One entree plus salad, and maybe dessert, with extra plates to split it all up. Counted up the calories and realized we were each getting our fill, too.

I lean in that direction too. I only. Reak out the good luggage if I am going on the cruise or checking into a nice hotel that I can drive too. I am going to the Bahamas in 2 weeks and I will take one carry on and my Duffle bag. I don't need anything else. I'm only bring cargo shorts, bathing suits and, T-shirts.
