Should Rolex be my first choice? Gift to a friend

    Hi Guys,

I was thinking buying very expensive watch to my business partner as a gift to our business's 10 years birthday, I found the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona,
Do you think it is worth it? do you suggest other models?

    Thanks in advance.

Depends, is it Stainless steel, two-tone, gold (yellow, red, white), or platinum?

Can you even get one? Does he/she wear a watch and is into watches?

You literally gave us nothing to go by.

Fifteen thousand in cash probably more effective (and not a word to the tax man!)

Seriously, unless you've spent a quarter million-odd at a Rolex AD already, you'll never find one.

If he is a serious watch collector, gift him an AP/ GS. If he is not into watches, then probably go with Rolex but getting a Daytona seems a little bit tough unless you have a good relationship with ADs. Try getting him a Datejust or OP. He should be delighted with it. The thoughts behind your gift matter much more than your gift :)

This thread is not common. It’s almost unreal.

I think it would depend on how much money the business partner generated over the 10 years

OP, we need more info as to what your biz partner has a taste for, if he /she is into watches then there are a ton of choices out there, and you will then have to narrow it down further (ie dress, sports).

If they are not into watches (and after 10 years you should know) then why even get them one, and if you do still want to get one knowing this then any Rolex will fit the bill.
