Tipping an AD? First big watch purchase

Hello all. New to this particular forum. Iím planning to purchase my first Rolex today. Iím very adamant about tipping for good service and as Iíve been in the service industry earlier in life. My question: do I tip my AD after such a purchase? This will be my first big watch purchase through an AD and I donít want to commit a faux pas as Iíd like to get on the waiting list for another watch.

    Please advise. Thank you.

I presume youíre American! No need to tip an AD. If anything, you should try to haggle a discount.

No you do not tip. That's very nice of you, but supremely unnecessary.

This may not apply in every situation, but salespeople in general are compensated via some sort of a commission structure and are not tipped. They don't really provide a service per se, even though good salespeople are very focused on "customer service" (defined as understanding their Customer's needs and striving to meet those needs).

    Tipping just sounds too bizarre.
