Tudor BB41 - replace flat crystal with dome?

I enjoy my BB41, but I can't help thinking I'd prefer a slightly domed crystal (perhaps with rear AR).

How doable is this? By my measurement the exposed surface of the crystal is a hair under 35mm, is a replacement likely to be available off the shelf or will it need to be made specially?

Also, I read somewhere here that the crystal on these is mounted from behind (ie, movement out to replace). Can anyone confirm?

Absolutely forget it. No there isnít an off the shelf crystal available, and you certainly cannot have a sapphire crystal made. The cost for a one off isnít even calculable! Youíll destroy any value the watch has. So live with what Tudor originally designed.

My only guess is maybe the crystal of a regular BB (also 41mm) might fit.. It'll be tough to source one though.

I call this romancing the stone. I rub my thumb over domed and boxed crystals but not my flat ones.

Someone did a mod that fixed the Black Bay (ETA) by putting the Mercedes hand (from Tudor Submariner parts) on it.

I mean, why not? It's not like they're rare or expensive. Might as well make it your own if you want.

If you have an ETA model, you can easily have your watchmaker switch the handset back.
