6 months ago, every dealer I would email said they had not gotten one in many months. Then, was in Barcelona, walked into a dealer and there it was. Ok, so it's not on the bracelet but still is the supply finally catching up with the demand?
As I understand, Rolex has shifted some of their production crew from Tudor over to Rolex to catch up on the demand for Rolex sports watches.... and this is contributing to some of the lingering production issues with the GMT and 58.
BB58 on Nato or strap have been readily available with no waiting list for a few months now. Bracelet models are still in demand, but I believe are catching up. I had to wait about 3 months (UK).
I'm located in the US, but I walked into an AD & bought mine on fabric on the spot. I had them order the bracelet & it took about a month to receive it.
I saw only 1 in the wild and it was packing up for shipment to a customer. I was in Tourneau NYC and I said I wanted to look at the BB58 and she smirked which leads me to believe there really aren't any??
I went to the Tourneau on Madison and the guy said waiting list was "a year" for the 58. Kind of just laughed and walked out...he seemed pretty confident in his answer.
I picked up the BB58 on bracelet when it first came out. I have yet to see another one since then on a bracelet, so I assume they are still limited in production.
If you want go with the bracelet better wait for the bracelet , if you with leather or nato strap and then later you buy bracelet they will charge you a lot of money I thought ... my sales ad give me advice ...
Guy brought one out from the back at T2 LHR last week. Said it was mine if I wanted. With the discount it was a good deal but passed. I think it came out to $2850 net after VAT was taken off.
I’ve came across 3 on straps and this one on steel in the last year. So hard to find but not that hard. Wasn’t a fan of the rivets.
While I was lucky and picked up what was likely the first one in Australia over a year ago (and on steel) there is still a considerable waiting list for steel here. One AD quoted 2 years to someone last week if the current supply does not change.
My local UK AD has had a '58 in the window on the strap for about a week and today they had another on with the bracelet. Apparently they are now getting around 2 - 3 per month. Which is still relatively scarce.
I waited about one month for mine from the time I ordered from AD at the beginning of July. They had bracelets in stock so ordered it on leather so it would be quicker. Then I pick it up and they tell me that the wait is now 9 months for any new orders. Seems like conflicting info so who knows but sounds like I got lucky. Long and short, I waited 1 month.
Also I had no relationship with the AD so again just lucky I think.
Where abouts in the UK do you live? I went in search of a 58 on Saturday round Manchester and ended up putting a 20% deposit down in David Robinson's.
There are 6 people in front of me and i was told it'd be about 4 months which I'm Ok with
Yeah I looked all over the city and had no luck. Heard everything from 4-6-10 months. One place had and told me they would only sell me it if i engraved it (FOH!). Tourneau on Madison about a month ago told me like 2-3 months and then when I called back said no orders. They seemed confused.
Ended up calling one of the local AD's where I live and put my name down.

I waited from Nov last year and picked mine up at the end of February, then I got rid of it and got a Sub, ended up preferring the 58 and got rid of the Sub which was beginning of May, my AD still hasn’t gotten one and they have no idea when it will come. It is really scarce here in St. Louis.
I put my name down a week after the 2108 Baselworld. Did this at 3 places. One writes my name down on a torn off piece of paper. I reflected on this via a Google review, a little unfavourable. A month later I got a call or email from the AD asking not for me to change my review but how they could change to improve their customer satisfaction. I was impressed with this so I changed the review anyway.
A month goes by and I get an update email on 58 projections and assuring me that I was still on their list. In June/July I get a call from this AD that I had never done business with and left no deposit, that they had MY 58 on steel awaiting my pick up. I arrived and they treated me like a king. While I'm sitting there I said I'd like to also order a fabric strap, so he walls me over to become a member of the complex and with that discount applied to what I was spending on the 58, the strap ended up costing less than a very flimsy nato.
Walked out with probably the first 58 to hit the Aussie market. Been enjoying it for over a year now and the AD has me for life.
I was thinking about a Superocean or a Seamaster till i saw the 58 and thought 'WOW!!!'
When we were in the dealers my missus said "£2600 is that all it is? " which was a green light to me.
I've given this a bit of thought (not that this would make me any more knowledgeable) and now I'm thinking that the shortage of 58's is being purposefully orchestrated by Tudor and if right supply will not ever meet demand. Why have one brand that sells second hand more than RRP when you can have two!
I hope Tudor's limiting production, and following in Rolex's footsteps in order to sustain value
If (or if simultaneously) Tudor's watchmakers are at Rolex helping catch up, that works for me too (assuming I can finally order a stainless sports model Rolex at my AD anytime soon).
