Which Tudor would you pick & why?

Here are the Tudor Black Bay 58 & what I believe is known as the Tudor Heritage.

The watches look so similar yet are so different.

Which one would you pick with price & availability not being an issue?

I have a BB41 Eta and really like it but never tried on or even seen the 58 yet.

before you plop down your $$$, i want to mention the thing that bothers me about these watches. it took me a while to figure out what it was, but now that i see it, i don't think i could ever get one.

it has to do with the squareness of the snowflake hands against the round markers on the dial. for me, it clashes. i find the hands work well w/ the square markers of the Pelagos, but not here.

also, imho the "square lollipop" on the seconds hand is too far out. i don't like how it hits the markers.

if these things don't bother you, awesome. i wish they didn't bother me. i tried, but in the end i got a Sub.

They look pretty similar but the 58 is so much better if you don't want a slab of metal on your wrist.

If your wrist is not too large (like mine 8.25") - then the 58 wins for overall balance/proportions - its perfect
But if you have a thicker wrist, above 7.5" - then the Heritage

Purely based on aesthetics, I think the bb41 is nice, plain and simple. Straight to the point and no more.

The bb58 on the other hand, with its gold accents, just catches the eye a bit more. A tad bit more daring and “catchy” compared to the 41

If we are to strictly stick to the two choices, then the Black Bay Heritage. It is a 41mm watch and judging from your collection, you tend to lean towards larger watches. I can't recall you posting pictures of your wrist shots so I am saying this assuming you have an above average wrist size.

I have a 7.7" wrist and got to try a BB58 when it was released. It is a small watch at 39mm and you will feel like you have a small wart sitting on your wrist. I have a Black Bay 41 in the Red bezel and yes, it is thick. However, it looks alright when viewed in relation to the watch face and on your wrist - i.e. it is proportional.

You might want to consider sourcing for the BB Heritage with the ETA movement as it is about the same thickness as the BB58. What you get is a watch with more wrist presence but not the thickness. Note that the thickness is only a problem if you wear it on a strap as someone here in WUS has proved that the thickness in the new MT movement equipped watches are all in the case back. The mid case is exactly the same.

7.3" wrist and owned them both. Two very different pieces. One too slab sided, other too dainty. They are just pieces you have to try on.
