Left unchecked, this will get worse. The majority of the respondents on this thread thought it was a good idea! America, your ancestors taught England a handy lesson in 1776. Would you mind giving them another one? :-d
Interesting....the AD's don't seem to do that in the USA nor in Switzerland.....
Simply buy from people you are comfortable with; or don't.....simple stuff actually.
In the UK you have to jump through the hoops if you want an allocation piece. If you don't there are many others behind you in the queue who will.
When you walk out the front door with your, say, brand spanking new CHNR on your wrist - minus hangtag, warranty papers, stickers etc, your 10k watch instantly becomes a 14k-15k watch.
Try that with a bi metal Globemaster, similar price point and your 10k piece just became a 6k piece. An 8k swing focuses the mind!
For many a 10k watch spend is a massive indulgence, the fact that they perceive their money to be safe is a huge motivator towards the brand. That is why people are putting up with the B8llshit over here.
The 'contract' that the buyer in the other post happily signed is beyond ridiculous, seriously it's just a watch at the end of the day, experiences like his really <insert expletives> !
From someone who lives in the UK, I find this pathetic & unenforceable. It's like they actually think they are doing us a favour.
To me, it feel like the AD's are one some sort of childish 'power trip'.
When I bought my Son's SubC date in Germany the assistant peeled the stickers off. I thanked her, saved him a job and she had beautiful hands and nails

It's funny that it's totally unenforceable - it's not a contract. Doesn't stop people signing though.
Imagine buying stocks on the open market and then being told you can't sell them in case you end up making money. No wonder this is becoming A Thing in Britain, where profit is a filthy word!!
