Hi everyone this Rolex is being offered to me at a good price. I've see it many times and it looks pristine, current owner says it has been sitting in a vault for 30 years. I have no experience with vintage rolexes so asking if the expects here can help weigh in. Anything suspicious? Does the dial check out etc. Seller is asking $4k CAD
Looks like a 14K YG Date that I owned at one time. Nice daily/dress watch. Keep in mind that it might (probably) need a service and authentication at the same time. Otherwise we are not supposed to discuss valuations.
2. It is 34mm which is small, the Datejust is 36mm which looks larger and more contemporary.
3. It takes a 19mm strap which again is small by today's standards.
4. You will have to love it on a leather strap only as finding a 19mm gold bracelet will be almost impossible and would cost more than the watch if you did.
1500/7 or 1500/8.
7 was 14ct
8 was 18ct
looks like it’s never had a polish unlike that over polished one in the link above. If you like it Go for it. 4k canadian is 3k US. Nice find.
yes fluted but it may have had it changed out and a smooth bezel fitted. Check between the lugs for the model number.
They also did 1514/8 which was 18ct and had a bark finish bezel
At $3000USD, its a great price but verify the gold content
