    Vintage Submariner.... Rolex or Tudor?

    H Fellow Rolex/Tudor fans,
I have a quick question..... if you could choose between the following vintage submariners, which would you prefer? A Rolex 5513 or Tudor 7016/0? And why?

I currently have a Rolex 5513.... but I am falling for the design of the Tudor 7016/0.... what would be your preference?

5513 is more expensive (as of today) and the 7016 will be harder to find in good condition. Tudor made substantially less watched than Rolex at the time.

I think Tudors are a little more liberal “fresh” with the snow flake revisions and colors. You should look at the blue references they pretty.

5513 all day. The design itself is timeless and classic

Rolex gets my vote. I don’t care for those ugly Tudor snowflake hands.

    The Rolex for me.

Reason is that till this day, the lineage of the Submariner remains unbroken since the day it was introduced to the world. It is an iconic watch and one where every dive watch from other brands right down to homages are compared with.

    Tudor? Umm...

I'd go Rolex Submariner here. I'm not a huge fan of the snowflake hands.

I’m with Timeout on the Tudor hands, and I don’t like the markers either.

It would be a 5513 for me please, a real classic watch.

so I am actually in the same boat as you - kinda on the fence about either or. I'm a 1985 birth year, so, hoping to find one from my birth year. I know that with the Tudor, it probably will have some great patina, but, for the Rolex, more often than not, there are "spider dials" out there which just don't do it for me! Tudor gets it for me!
