You can find the O-ring kit on eBay. Do a search for Battery Kit for Suunto Core. You'll probably have to contact Suunto for the battery cap itself, though. Congrats on your new O/B Core!

Yep, they sell them as kits... I just grabbed 2 for my Vectors and X Lander and Yachtsman. (I like to have a few on hand) ;)

What is the guideline for replacing the O-ring?

I certainly dont think it needs replacing every time.. as long as its inspected and lubed occasionally it should be fine. I have never seen any degradation in mine when i dont change it.

By the way, do not use patroleum based lubricant... You want silicone based lube, like dieletric grease or silicone plumbers seal lube.

Thanks, Jeff! Are you supposed to lube it every battery change?

Well im not sure about "supposed to" but I do. All it does is keep the rubber gasket from deteriorating. Since I have a ton of the silicone, anytime I change a battery in any of my watches, I lube the gasket lightly.

I just wanted to point out that it seems likely that these are generic o-rings that are "about the right size". As far as I can tell there is no way to buy Suunto-provided o-rings for the Core (and a call to Finland seemed to confirm this). All the legitimate retailers selling battery kits for the core are selling just the battery (or are selling a kit intended for a different watch).

I don't want to put one of the ebay o-rings in my watch when I change the battery, so I'll likely just keep the current one for a change or two, and then kindly ask Suunto service to send me a replacement o-ring.
