Anyone familiar with this Ball diver?

So anyway, I'm looking around eBay last night (always a costly activity!) and I see a seller in Hong Kong auctioning this Ball diver--he states it's a discontinued model purchased in 2001. Model No. BC002SS3117SGN. A google search turned up nothing. Since I have this weakness for unique divers, I wondered if anyone knew anything about this model? :thanks

    This is seller photo:

It looks like a Traser with a Ball face to me.
    I would be wary

....oh, and I forgot to mention...it's a QUARTZ movement--has Ball ever used quartz movements in their watches? Here is a photo of back of watch:

I can't answer regarding authenticity but I've seen this model watch pop up frequently on eBay and I know that Ball has sold quartz models (outside the US at least).

Ball does/did have a quartz lineup for non-US sales. I know of one AD who has one quartz model in their case.....

I can't verify anything about the piece in this thread though. Maybe Jeremy can shed some light onto it.

Yeah I've got a luminox with the same looking case. So I'd agree about being wary.

It is a fake and the shoddy dial and caseback is typical fake watch standard. Besides Ball dont carry quartz watches. Stay clear of that ebay dealer.

Thank you for your input gentlemen. I lost interest when I re-read the description and saw it was a quartz watch. In any case, it is already well above what I would consider paying for it, real or not.

That is an early Ball, back from when quartz was still a priority overseas.

Ball Watch USA has never sold quartz watches, except for the occasional special order.

Oooops....I stand corrected. That watch is more a Traser then a Ball. Is Ball still being manufactured by the same factory?
