    Aviator Lume Questions

I asked this in another thread, but figured this deserved one of it's own. Do the inner numbers on the Ball Aviator have superluminova on them? Ive seen pictures of the watch in the dark with the numbers glowing purple, green, and some have just the tritium glowing, but not the numbers. I talked with Ball directly, and they weren't sure, so I thought I would post this question here for Aviator owners to chime in about their lume experiences with regards to the inner numbers on the dial. Any info and/or pictures is greatly appreciated!

I don't think any of the numbers on any models are lumed. Just the hands

The Aviator has superluminova on the numerals, but it's darned weak. Mine fizzles out within 10 minutes of being fully charged.

. . . but those GTLS tubes are killer!

I have no idea if the Aviator GMT numerals are lumed.

    Picture from Ball:

Hey Rob, thanks for the info! Do the numbers glow purple like in the picture? Also, that's too bad that they don't last more than 10 minutes, but I guess that's what the huge tritium tubes are for.

Well not so sure if there is SL on the number on my aviator. But the pic you post which was from jeremy is taken under UV or something at last year Basel08 and anything that is white will grow under certain UV range. It is just like when you go in to a disco party and your white shirt fluoresce under certain disco light.

Yep, they're lumed, but it doesn't last at all.

The tubes work just fine, though!

It would be interesting to know what type of luminous material is applied to the number on aviator??! But i thing i know for sure is that Officer number has LumiNova on it.
