    Ball Manufacture Movement

I had heard that Ball was working with a partner on the manufacture movement.

Does anyone know if the Ball Manufacture movement is a rebranded or rehashed version of Hamiton's 80 hour Manufacture movement?

I don't know all the details of the movement, but I don't think it's related in any way to the Hamilton one. It doesn't have a slowed down beat rate to achieve the 80 hr power reserve. So a much better movement it seems.

Good to know. I wonder if they worked with a different company on it.

I remember a while back, reading about a research and development division Ball created called Patrick's Lab. Apparently they develop different innovations for Ball, including the manufacture movement I would think. If anyone knows more about this, they can chime in.

Funny name I know. But if you Google it, you'll see lots of references to it on various sites.

    Re: Ball Manufacture Movement

I don't understand why in house movements are so sought after, i would worry about longevity, spare parts, ease of getting serviced, warranty. I would much prefer a well regarded high end movement.
