    Ball Movements

Anybody seen or have pics of ball movements? Are they signed/decorated or just plain/bare ETA movements? Just curious

It depends; some models like the Trainmaster and Conductor have see-thru back. They show decorated ETAs.

I am not sure about the rest. Jeremy or any of you who have seen a Ball movement will have to shed some light here.

    Re: Ball Movements

All Ball movements are signed, but decoration depends on the collection.

For instance, there's not much need for added filigree on models like the Engineer Hydrocarbon or Engineer Master, when the movement is enclosed in a soft iron antimagnetic inner jacket & a stainless steel case!

The Trainmasters and Conductors display varying degrees of complexity, from simple Ball engravings to the more elaborate engravings of the Trainmaster Heritage (see obie's photo below). Not only does it have the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers' logo, it also replicates the circular damaskeening that was Webb C. Ball's personal favorite.

    Regards,
    Jeremy
