    Ball Skylab

Here's an amateurish picture of my very first Ball (and definitely not my last), the Skylab Limited Edition. Numbered and limited to 1600. What I like most about it are:

    1. It's a 43mm which suits me very well. It took me quite a while to choose between a 42mm and a 45mm Planet Ocean wishing they had something in between. The Skylab answers that.

    2. The bracelet is very, very sturdy plus it is not prone to scratches.

    3. I like the semi-domed crystal as compared to the other flat Ball models.

It really is a collectible, but robust like all Balls so it can be an everyday wear, too. I can understand why you will have second thoughts parting with it.

    Re: Ball Skylab

My Ball AD had a Skylab in their showcase, the day I ended up buying my EMII Classic. I can tell you, that Skylab really catches your attention. It's a very cool looking, tough, and beautiful watch...far better looking than any pics can reveal. I got to try it on, and it's substantial without being overly heavy. To my eyes, chronos can look "busy"...but the Skylab's dial isn't. Everything is legible and easy to read, and that little Skylab at 9 is very cool!

Fortunately for me, it was the EMII Classic that was really calling to me...and it turned out to be one of the ones that I could afford!

If you can, consider holding onto your Skylab...at least, long enough until you feel really good about your decision, whether it's to sell her, or to keep her.

    Good luck with your decision!
    Take care,
    Geoff

Yes, I forgot to mention that I liked it also because the chrono did not look too busy compared to the others. And, I have to say this again- the bracelet is simply outstanding. This is probably the best fitting watch I have.

I also really love that Skylab. If I had one, I would be sad to let it go.

Okay, there's a new AD in the Richmond area and I just had to stop in after work.

They had the Skylab in the case. I tried it on. I want it. Period.

I'm not a chrono fan, but the Skylab could convert me.

...and my new Planet Ocean just arrived today.

Go for it, is it is cleverly disguised as a two register chrono, where it actually is a three register..

    Re: Ball Skylab

Haha! When it comes to Balls and Doxas (Doxi?), I don't need enabling!

The problem is that I just bought a new PO and the Ball Master II Diver that was on on the sales forum this afternoon. I'm tapped out. I wish I had the $1600 to buy JDS1017's Skylab. What was I thinking when I stopped by the new AD?
