    Ball Winding Issue - Help

So I recently purchased a used Ball Victory from someone local.
The issue i'm having seems to be with the winder.

When I wear my watch it works fine, but when I leave it on my auto-winder it dies after 10 hours.
I'm not sure what the issue is as I have three other watches on the auto-winder and all of them are running fine. Additionally, when I went to manually wind the Ball after it had stopped, it only took about three turns before the clutch kicked in. This would indicate that the watch was almost fully wound, correct?

Anyone have any suggestions or similar problems?

Just seems odd that it works fine when it's on my wrist, but dies quickly on the winder.

It's only got one setting, spins both clock and counter clockwise. Not sure for how long though, but the 3 other watches I keep on it have no issues.

Makes me wonder if the rotor is sticking. It might be that it’s related to the angle that the watch sits in when on the winder. I’d get it looked at by a watchmaker if I were you.

If it is a rotor issue, do you know what the cost might be for a repair? I still have the option to return the watch at this point, so i'm trying to weigh the cost benefit since I did get a great deal on the price for the watch.

First of all it's not being fully wound. It should run over 40 hrs even if the winder isn't doing anything. If it's being worn while active, the auto winding system isn't working. You have a sticking rotor or a some other problem. Wear it non-stop for a few days and time it to see how long the mainspring lasts.

I don't think the issue is the winder if he's only getting 10 hrs from the ms.

The winder he is using might not have the right TPD for his watch. Depending on your movement if your TPD (Turns Per Day) might be to low. If you go to orbita's website they have a link to their date base for every watch made with the watch movement, which rotation to use and how many TPD to keep the watch wound.

I wore it all day today and put it on the winder around 6pm, by 12pm it was dead.
I guess i'll have to return it. :(
