    bathyscaph trieste grey market?

Hey guys I am writing her because they Engineer Hydrocarbon Trieste edition is listed on a website that describes it self as a NON- AD. Whats up with this? I thought that the Trieste was a pretty limited edition and that it would only be purchasable through ADs. Does ball work differently than other companies in terms of ADs and what not?

No Sir, they do not. In fact Ball is VERY strict with their AD status.

The source you have found is most likely from overseas, Asia perhaps, where AD control is more difficult. Often times real AD's who cannot sell their products, have them sold via these channels.

Make no mistake there is nothing like purchasing a Ball watch from an Authorized dealer. The level of before and after sales service will be unmatched and in the long run, I doubt you are really saving any money...

Do yourself a favor and visit your local Authorized Dealer, just to look and handle the watches. You will not regret it.

    I hope this helps,

Please read this notice about buying Ball watches from unauthorized sources. This article came from Ball Watch USA.

Persons found in possession of Tritium watches (i.e. Ball watches) that have not been distributed by an NRC exempt distribution license holder (i.e. Authorized Ball Watch Dealers within the United States) are subject to enforcement action by the nuclear regulatory commission and state authorities.

That's crazy. Makes me want that Trieste even more. The price tag is just way the hell out of my range.

If our discussion has not pushed you over the edge, maybe these cool pictures will!

And this wrist shot by Oldspice:

Having owned 2 Hydrocarbon watches, I can safely say these are built like tanks!!!

If you cannopt afford a new one, why not consider the regular Hydrocarbon Chrono or perhapds a pre-owned one?

the top two have been on my dual monitor display backgrounds at work since I originally heard about this watch being released. My GF always asks me why I have pictures of watches instead of her lol.

Also: is that a navy blue face in the wrist shot??? Or is just weird lighting? I was under the impression it only came in black and white.

It is the anti-reflective coating giving it a blue hugh at different angles. The dial is indeed black. Neat huh?
