Off topic In case you wondered what I ended up with...

This is my 12th Seamaster Professional and 13th Omega. After Ball, Omega is my favorite watch company. I have been a fan for over 15 years and have owned every incarnation of the Seamaster Pro from the pre-Bond 200m to the Grand-daddy Planet Ocean, which I have owned in both case sizes. I have an extreme soft spot, especially for the chronograph. I had a white one a while back, but it had some service issues.

This is the newest version, with the updated dial, longer minute hand and Planet Ocean style case back engraving. I gave upboth of my Ball watches for this 1 watch. That is how much I love it. Heck, I even drore 100 kms to pick it up in person! That is not to say I prefer Omega to Ball. As a matter of fact I do not. Though, it does say that I prefer this MODEL over the Ball models I had.

I am still in the hunt for my next Ball. Will it be the Night Train? EMII Diver Chronometer? EMII Diver TMT? Or...

    Time will tell...

OK, you can start throwing your tomatoes now...

What, throw vegetables?? No way!! That is one gorgeous watch!!

If Ball watches didn't exist, I'd be going for Omegas!

Marc, that is indeed a beautiful watch...if I'm not mistaken it's got a modified Valjoux 7750 movement under the hood. I had this watch long long time ago (in an older avatar...but had to sell it off when I went back studetn life at b-school). It's a fat monster that is hard to take off your wrist once you get used to the weight. I'm considering a bond SMP as my next indulgence - always wanted that watch (had bought the SMP chrono instead when I was wanting to buy the bond SMP) - that bracelet is fantastic, inn'it?

The bracelet and clasp are so supple, it's like butter!

Yep, good old 7750, though Omega does "tweak" it a little. Feels great on my wrist! I had the Bond Seamaster Pro from 1998 to 2001. It was the watch I have owned the longest. Wore it every day. I bought, sold and traded countless other watches, but this one always stayed. That is until I got the Limited Edition America's Cup with the white gold bezel and it kind of snow balled from there.

I have always come back to the Seamaster. There is something classic, yet modern about them. They really speak to me and since I have had so many, they are like comfortable shoes. Kudos to Omega for not discontinuing this model, and the non-chronograph version!

Anyway, I am certain I will not be able to go long without a Ball, but for now I am content...

Fantastic choice! Of all the watches that have passed through my hands, the "Bond" bracelet on the SMP was hands-down the best.

Congrats, Marc! That's a real beauty!

I've never owned an Omega, but have enjoyed admiring them from afar.

I recently tried on a Planet Ocean at a local jeweler. It was the model with the black bezel, black dial, but with orange numerals. It was 42mm and it had a bracelet. You guys have been commenting on how great the SMP bracelet is. Is it better than the PO bracelet? I've not tried on a Seamaster Professional, so I don't know how its bracelet feels on the wrist. But I was pretty amazed at how comfortable the PO bracelet was, and how well it draped on my wrist. Something about the way the links are shaped...pretty darned ergonomic. In short, I really liked the PO...A LOT...and would've loved to have taken her home...some day....

Marc, any chance of a coupla more pics?

Wear your new gorgeous watch in good health, my friend!

The PO bracelet is very comfortable too (especially the 20mm bracelet on the 42mm model), but it's still not as comfortable as the "Bond" bracelet, IMHO.
