changing straps on the night train...

picked up the night train on an impulse buy at lunch today...looking at everyone's scans, I decided to go check it out for myself. It really is a nice watch and incredibly legible...so I pulled the trigger. I bought the one with the leather strap, but wanted to ask those who have already swapped straps...how does the DLC coating hold up to the strap changes? Are your tools scratching the coating and therefore causing the SS layer to show through the scratches?

Excellent question, as I have one or order and I like to change straps often.

Also any shot with a zulu/nato band on?

This is how it is done.....

Here is my procedure - as I am careful not to put scratches on ANY of the
watches (regardless of metal or DLC or PVD coating)...Works like a charm:

    1) Get a proper tool
    2) place a very thin tape from one slanted side of the fork tool that would otherwise touch the inside of the lug.
    2) flip the watch over and approach from the BACK of the case.
(this seem basic, but you would be surprised how many times I saw\
people sticking in the tool from the front of the watch)
    3) Apply pressure equally with the sliding motion towards the center of the strap 'WITHOUT'
tilting the tool so it does NOT LEVERAGE against the inside of the lug.

If you do this properly - there should be no scratches or marks of any kind...

Very scratch resistant. I have the same tool that Milos pictured. Tape is the great thing I haven't tried! I will have to adapt that technique to my S\S watches.

Thanks guys! Really excited about the Night Train! I was safely parked in the Trader Joe's parking lot when I took the photos!

I found that on my second night of driving (yesterday after playing Poker until 3 am), it was another night of watching the Night train illuminate down the dark streets and me crossing the centre line while being mesmorized by it glow! So I know what you others mean with your BALLs on as well!

The strap is really easy to adjust over long tshirts, outer jackets or other sleeves. Really great and I'm happy with the military Pilot look!

Here are some more non-studio Q&D photos.

Johnny (bruceleeroy) might be able to oblige. I'm waiting for my first Bond Nato strap to arrive from Austrailia for my Sub.

Meanwhile, here is a photo edit pic.
