This is one your not going to get an answer on from Ball directly. I'll leave the thread, but the first sign of it going south and it's gone.

I would hope that Ball would take down the watches for inspection to discover the problems, and of coarse, use the info for quality assurance.

Considering just how many watches Ball produces each year, there don't seem to be very many bad eggs - at least the number that get posted in here.

There just seems to be more threads in the last few months - (they certainly don't die) because people keep them running as they give play-by-play info on the returns/fix/arrivals over the two plus month time frames.

They either destroy them or offer them to employees at (not fantastic) discount.

I had to give that some thought. It made me kick myself for not asking the same question when I visited the Zenith factory (as if they would have given me an answer. ).

I am guessing that they part it out to some degree. Dials and hands and cases are good to have. Probably destroy it otherwise. They would not sell a poorly functioning watch to an employee as the employee could then sell it to someone else; thereby, perpetuating the problem.

    Good response!
