    Custom Bands for Ball's

Anyone have some recommendations and links for some nice looking custom bands?
I've ordered bands from 2 different leather band makers and although they have been nice quality, I find most of these straps seem to be made for larger watches and tend to be very thick.

I'm looking for some nice alternatives for 20mm lug, 40-42 mm case width, 10-15 mm height.
I'd also like to find something for my Zenith but i'm having trouble with the 19mm lug size.

    These are the watches...

Rob has my white moonphase so this pic isn't mine, but same watch.

As noted many times here, you can easily use a 20mm band on a 19mm lug width, and similarly, a 22mm band on a 21mm lug width (another odd Ball favorite...)--that should expand your horizons or starters. Just too many options to even begin what to look for that might please you--but I would definitely go off-brand, custom and ready-made, for my search.

Camille Fournet. I had a custom cordovan strap made for my GO and it is gorgeous, a little on the expensive side. I too was looking for something that was not thick and had the same shape and size as an original. Sorry no pics. I would not hesitate to purchase another from Camille Fournet again.

    Custom Bands for Ball's

Custom, by definition, means made for you, to your specs. Did you tell either of these makers what thickness you wanted? Any true custom maker will also accommodate whatever width you need.

Not custom, but I get all my straps from Panatime

I have also used StrapCode, they have the "odd" sizes (19,21, etc)

I'm a fan of Clover Straps, very happy with what he have done for my Ball, Sinn, Omega watches. His style is more rugged, sporting with a bit of funk. He can make thinner straps as well, but I don't like thin straps so all my are of the thicker variety. Despite the thickness, all Clover straps are super supple and soft, they are some of the most comfortable straps I've. Other straps that comes close to the comfort level of Clover are the new performance line from Hirsch, which have soft ribbed rubber backing with leather and other more conventional/dressy material on top. Another reason I like my Clover straps is they are completely custom, from material, patterns, number of holes and length of the straps.

Ya, i've seem some of your straps and I do like them. Was that alternate stitching band from them? The one with orange and black (I believe)?
I was thinking of doing something similar for my Stowa, with a light blue stitching and white to match the hands.

Thanks for the feedback fellas, if you have anymore links or reccomendations post them here.

TimeFleas, I know you can squeeze a 20mm on a 19mm but it just looks bad. I've tried it on the Zenith and the leather rippled at the lugs. There's just not enough room at the lugs to accommodate a larger width.

I also know custom bands are supposed to be 'Custom' but some watch band makers stick to a particular thickness and some just don't feel right on smaller watches due to the materials they use. I like the bands I bought but, i'm looking for alternatives. So, I felt this was the best place to ask. Who else would have better advice then the forum members on this site!? Am I right? Am I right?

I would check out Greg Stevens. His straps are great.

Pretty sure not everyone would agree with you here--especially since so many have tried it and liked it, as attested to numerous posts in this forum. Of course not EVERY strap 1mm over the lug width will work, especially if the leather is particularly stiff, but most will, and over time, they will actually look better, as leather tends to loosen up with age, and those with exact measurements tend to get a little play at the lugs, while those one mm over remain snug--don't have a pic right now, but am wearing my 21lug width Aviator with a 22mm strap, and it looks perfect.

More than happy to be an enabler. :) Ball on Clover.

Very nice! They are rather sporty, like you said.

I don't recall who posted this, but I think it looks nice on a dressy watch.
Anyone else have pics and links of some bands that will fit a dressier Ball watch?
