Disagree completely. Have never liked darker brown with black.

Have to agree with TC again, a mismatch in all ways possible, from the brown leather to the single huge stainless steel rivet (and buckle) which clashes with the DLC case. Over time, the leather will darken, and will be OK I think, but the rivet and the buckle will never change...

I actually don't mind the dark brown strap, I think it looks nice.
The rivets though I would do without. Regardless, if you like it that's all that matters anyway.

    Re: D9 Train!

The rivet idea came about from the new Aviator strap in brown leather that the dealer I bought it from threw in as a freebie. It had similar light stitching in the closed pattern as well. This kind of gives an aviator/flieger look to the watch; I found myself favoring it over the rubber one.

As to the buckle, I might have John send me a black one for comparison. It's a screw-in as opposed to sewn, so that's an easy switch there.

Funny thing, the rubber straps these come with have...a silver buckle. Maybe they thought it would be too much black? Hmm.

Then there's the brushed stainless crown, so there's another touch of silver. But yeah, I'll likely try the black PVD buckle.

    Hi,

Just in case you thought my earlier post was a bit cheeky! - I thought I would share that I can create a similar combo - my Brown "Officer" strap is darker - but it is still a clash (in my opinion) I like the original rubber but a black with white stitching works OK

See quick (not very good photos) below
