    EMII Classic lume shot

Since this is my first Ball watch, I'm comparing it to 2 other Traser I got. And sorry for the red light in the longer exposure. It comes from my mains power switch.

    Before the test:

    0.5s exposure F2 at ISO 800:

    1s exposure F2 at ISO 800:

    4s exposure F2 at ISO 800:

I think the Ball blows the Traser out of the water in terms of lume. The EMII classic probably put out more light then the 2 trasers combined. :)

But unfortunately right after taking these pictures I found that my ball have a speck of debris stuck on the underside of the crystal. I took it to the Ball service center. Mr. Wan in Ball Asian promptly apologize and offer to send me a replacement as soon as their next shipment arrives on Monday. Overall I'm very impressed with their service. But I think Ball Switzerland could do better on their QC department.

I hope those who own more then one Ball watch can post some Ball to Ball lume shot. After all, the tritium dial and hands are one of Ball's unique selling point.

Very nice pics ! Thanks for the report . I never really liked the EMII ,but those pictures are great. That orange hands pops out and adds a great splash of color . How is the time keeping daily ? Sorry to hear about the situation . I am confident that Ball would get this right . I have a SD that had similar QC issues . Rolex made it right and I am still in the honeymoon phase after 2 1/2 years.

    Good luck

Great comparison shots! The EMII Classic lume really is tops, IMHO.

My EMII Classic is the most accurate of all my watches (see my signature below for the list of competitors). It loses only a second a day (spending 6 days a week on my Sharper Image winder and about one day a week on my wrist).

It gained half a second on the 12 hours a test. But I will reserve my judgment on accuracy until it have run in for at leave a few weeks.

BTW, does anyone know if the EMII Classic is using a Elabore grade 2824 with Nickel balance, Nivarox 2 hairspring and Etachocs shock absorber? I ask this because Jeremy once said that non-Chronometer Ball use Elabore grade movement.

    Hi chuen,

Great lume comparison shots! Thanks for posting them!

Your first shot is how my EMII Classic looks to me, in the dark, and without my much needed eyeglasses! Of course, that's with me bringing the watch pretty close to my face!

What amazes me most about my EMII Classic's lume, is how bright it is to my unaided myopic eyes at night, while it sits on a winder on my dresser, about 6 feet away from the bed!
    Take care,
    Geoff

Hey Chuan. I remember back when you posted this and mentioned the spec of debris. Well I found one under my sapphire as well. Sucking itself to the glass versus floating around the dial. So it really doesn't bug me. Hope your EMII Classic is all up to snuff now. Did the replacement work out with BALL Asia. Can't seem to remember?

    Hi Brandon,

Sorry, but Chuen won't be responding. He was banned back in October.
