Engineer ii Ohio vs Engineer ii Marvelight

I've been going back and forth between these two.

I'm kinda leaning towards the Ohio for now, but thinking it will be too blingy? the case, the bracelet and the applied indices are highly polish, makes it very reflective. Is the applied indices distracting?

What I really like about the Ohio, it has that vintage vibe and looks very nice in most straps.

The Marvelight on the other hand, is not a strap monster unless it's in black, but, it does look really good on bracelet compared to the Ohio.

Anyone who has both or either one, I really like to know your opinions. Thanks in advance.

I own neither but I have seen the Marvelight in real life and kinda like the bright lume on the dial. Letís be honest, the uniqueness of a Ball Watch is that lume.

I couldnít recall what the Ohio looked like and thanks for directing me to Gnomon to look. Youíre right, itís a vintage style and if you like that look and changing of straps, then that is the one for you. After all, you did say that you were leaning towards the Ohio.

What you need to know though, is that the lume dots are also tritium tubes and may not be as bright as standard luminova. But it does itís job (my wife has a similar but ladies version dial) and it glows throughout the whole night unlike luminova which decays after an hour or so.

Please check out these photos that I grab online.

Kinda leaning towards the Marvelight now, after seeing these on wrist lol.

I think the Marvelight really shines on bracelet.

The Ohio looks much better on straps.

Some of the regulars own a Marvelight. Hope they chime in for you. Thatís my preference but like I said, you sounded like you liked the vintage look of the Ohio more.

I own neither, but have numerous other Ball watches.

I agree, go with the Marvelight.

In addition, a version of the Marvelight is now available with the 80 hour power reserve Manufacture movement.

I really do and from what I've seen via online photos, it's a strapmonster. But Im concerned that it would look too blingy coz of the highly polished indices and the 12, 6, 9 numerals.

Why would you prefer the Marvelight over the Ohio?

Re: Engineer ii Ohio vs Engineer ii Marvelight

Personally, I am into more sport watches than dress oriented watches.

I do have several EHC, Engineer II, and Trainmaster series Ball watches.

I think the size of the Marvelight is better, the lume is better, it has a better wrist presence, I believe it has better WR, and then there's the Manufacture movement, if you choose to get it. It os more of a Sport orientation watch.

If I had a Marvelight, I would get one with a bracelet and leave it on the bracelet.

Note: Not all Marvelight models have the Manufacture movement, some are ETA.
