Engineer Master II Diver Worldtime - Strap Options

I've had mine for about 8 months and like it, but really want to change things up on the strap front. I've not found any straps that fit this watch because the space between the spring bars and the case is literally like 1 or 1.5mm. Does everyone else's Diver Worldtime have such a small space between case and spring bar?

I know the official Ball rubber straps are an option, but I take issue with $200 for a rubber strap that isn't even fitted to the case (and it's boring as hell). I bought one of the cheap leather straps off of strapcode and that didn't fit either--too thick. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

    Custom strap?
You should be able to get one made for much less than what Ball will charge you for that rubber strap.

I've tried Greg Stevens Designs. He does good work if you don't mind waiting a long time to get it or him potentially messing up your order 3 times. He is very good at making what you want and will fix any mistake but it must have been over 4 months till I finally got the bands I had ordered.

Toshi straps are also very good for larger watches. He isn't as good about customizing size though and I personally prefer Greg's quality over Toshi's, but they are good quality leather for the price. Will also take a few months to arrive though.

Clover Straps. Ten13th has quite a few of them and I just ordered two of them today so I can't comment on the quality. I know Patrik is very pleasant to work with and will pretty much make any band style you want with many color options. His prices are the best i've seen around for the work he is offering. I'm not kidding, I could have ordered 3 bands from him for the cost of 1 Toshi or Greg Stevens strap.

Anyway, that is my thinking. I personally prefer having something made that looks and fits my watch the way I want.

Yes, that distance is tight! I have a number of different straps for it, all from Panatime.

I also have a sailcloth style one, but couldn't find it on the site.

Of course, NATOs are an option, but Zulus are not.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of replies to your generous help. Really, thanks alot for the suggestions. I've thought about the custom strap route, but tons of options. I'll look at the ones above and take a shot with one of the panatime straps too. I'll post pictures when I receive one of them. Woohoo!

That sailcloth/stitched composite option (the Maratac 'Extreme') is one of the best — that's how I predominantly wear mine.

There are several strap companies now offering leather Nato straps which may be a option.

I think the lugs are way too tight for a leather NATO. I can barely for a regular leather strap if it's thick at the bars.
