I wish this company would change its name

All those "cute" malaprops in the title lines are getting extremely annoying. If you must, put them in the message's body.

    What are you incinerating?

If it's any consolidation, Ball USA itself sells promotional materials with the same in yen dough.

    Malaprop. Great word!

Oh well, at least we Ball fans have a watch name we can have a little laugh with. As long as it is not really tastless, what's the harm? I trust the Ball mods to delete/edit as they feel necessary.

Oh...I was going to suggest that we do sometimes engage in "double entendre" ("entendre" being the French verb for "to hear") with this company's name. It's all in good fun.

I just don't want the same thing to happen here that did to the Sinn brand name. I mean, how many time's can one stand to see "I have Sinned again.." in title lines before it loses its sense of humor and catorgorizes the poster as a dork? It's for our own good. Baby on Board!

Yep---you always know the newbies over at Sinn, that's for sure. This forum (so far) seems to have a very regular core following and we have been pretty good about not being too silly/tasteless. Still, "newbie syndrome" is going to occur and we all understand that--new Ball forum visitors figure out fast that the "balls" thing gets old fast. I think I've now read most every double entendre on "Ball" or "Balls" that one can make in American English. I'll admit I've made a few myself. Gotta go....

I think Ball is big enough for the jokes to do no harm, but I understand where Heb is coming from. There are a limited number of testicular japes we can make, and they are going to start sounding pretty lame pretty quickly.

Even more than that, Ball perpetuates the jokes itself. One need look no further than its bumperstickers.

For those newbies who don't know, Ball is one of the oldest and most revered and most COLLECTED names in American Horology (and no, that word also does not mean what you might think it means). Would Rolex or Cadillac change their name? It is their most important asset!
