Just picked up this Cannonball II

I don't hang out here much but I just picked up this Ball Trainmaster Cannonball II, this is the gray dial and was a new variant added last fall when the Cannonball II came out. I have been wanting one of these since I got to try a black/white Cannonball one at the Ball sponsored races in Saratoga last year. (If you missed my posts on the Ball USA sponsored races Saratoga click here and here) This watch is awesome!! Since the MSRP on these is like $3700, I was looking at watchrecon for a used one every time I had some extra cash, but I was never able to find anything. I noticed Topper's had one in their 'Select Pre-Owned' watches, but it was gray/silver and I really wanted black/white. I decided to give it a try after looking at real photos around the web and getting a smokin' deal on this watch from Rob at Topper's. I am glad I did. The dial changes color from a light gray to almost black depending on the light and makes for a much more dynamic look than the black and white I tried on before. I think I have pretty much blown the watch budget for year already...but thats OK with me. Here are some photos I took that hopefully show how nice this is......

That's a nice looking watch. The dial hue is a nice feature of this one. Congrats on your new Ball!

Thanks guys, hopefully this is not my last modern Ball watch! (I do have a 50 year old trainmaster) As far as looking new, the watch was purchased new in November, and already traded in. I was able to save about $1000 off the price of a new one. Rob at Topper's was super easy to deal with. It came with all the original paperwork, hangtags, etc...just like new!!

Congrats and welcome to the SpringLOCK owners club. Great pictures by the way. If you could add them to the photo album that would be great. I'll add a Cannonball II thread there.

This will be my next Ball watch, it's really hard to capture the dial in photos, way better in person.
