    My Magnate

Got my new and very first ball today! The AD gave me a hefty discount. After deliberating for 1 hour i decided to get the black vs the white. I would say that im very much impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of Ball watches. Love the way the curved lugs hug my small wrist. This watch is at par my my rollie and Omega SMP! Here are some of amateur pics. Thanks WUS

    Mine's a blue one - a superb timepiece.
Ball has a very nice rubber strap shaped to the case and lugs.
Ask your AD. If you get one, be sure you get the alignment pin with it.
    Enjoy!

    Re: My Magnate

    Hi jaymd,

Congrats on getting your new Magnate!

Thanks for posting those great pics, too!

I must admit; when I saw the pic(illustration) of the Magnate on the Ball website, I wasn't overly impressed and gained no real interest in it. It really kind of looked "flat" to me. The awesome photos that all of you have posted on this forum have done a great service, imho, to Ball watches. They really show just how beautiful, well made, and finely detailed Ball watches are. I'd really like to see Ball provide high res pics of their entire collection on their websites(both corporate and U.S.).

The Magnate is a very handsome watch with a nice clean, uncluttered look. The cyclops looks to be just a bit higher than the rest of the crystal...unlike that of the Rolex cyclops, which sits high above the crystal. Thus, the Magnate cyclops, imho, keeps in line with the clean look of the watch. I like it a lot!
    Take care,
    Geoff

Thanks Probably should get the wife a midcow. She really liked those hydrocarbons my AD showed us. Although she liked the white one better because of the blued hands.

    Re: My Magnate

It's funny - a lot of folks are scared away due to the size of the watch but as you noted, even us smaller-wristed guys can wear one due to the curved ends.
    Cheers,
    Gerry

Yep! Been checking out ball watches since early last year and they all looked huge to me that is until i tried one on. The curved lugs fit perfectly.
