New Ball Watch on Gnomon: Engineer Master III Marvelight Blue

    https://www.gnomonwatches.com/produc...-be-904l-steel

Anyone have experience with the Engineer III? Trying to find reviews but there are none on this beautiful watch. I can't even find this watch on Ball's own website for some reason. Looks like it's using the same 904L steel as Rolex. Anyone know if you can take the RR1103 movement serviced anywhere since it's a ETA 2824?

Also does anyone know the lug-to-lug length of this watch? i have tiny wrists so I'm hoping its less than 48mm

The listing here in the Ball Watch Co website is the same watch except for the extra reference to 904L in Gnomon’s listing.

You can email customer support at Ball and they will answer your question. They normally do.

No direct experience with the EM III, but plenty with that and similar ETA 2824-based Ball movements--they are easily serviced and repaired by any competent technician.

Just in case you didn’t know, Ball just released a new Marvelight with their new in house movement (80 hours power reserve + COSC). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrtT2xwwvSo

I believe I own the EMIII. It was sold as a II but it was bought new the end of December from a Ball AD on Ebay and has the 904L steel and looks just pretty close to the II as far as the head size and dimensions. Here is the link I did a while back comparing my 4 year old EM to the brand new one and you can see the differences.

    https://forums.watchuseek.com/f239/b...5093305-3.html

What stands out is on the new model they deleted the tritium tube from the second hand. It has listed on the dial T25 rather than just a T for the US models. The Bracelet is a complete redesign to where they eliminated the round RR ball on the clasp and also made the links different with the center sections not as wide as the older model and they tapered the bracelet from 20mm at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp.

None of my paperwork identifies it as a EMIII. However on the watch case back it does have engraved 904L. My model number is NM2026C-S23J-BK.

It would look almost perfect if it did not have the cyclops, IMHO. It is very attractive.

I use to feel the same about the cyclops on watches, but they have grown on me quite a bit over the last couple of years. Now I actually really like them after owning a watch with one.

I do believe is was less than 48mm. I had the marvelight III but sold it because I dont really think it could replace my Datejust 41. My wrists are 6.5 as a reference point and it fit quite well. The only thing I didnt like was the middle portion of the end link sticking out.

Funny, I wouldn't have bought had it not been for the cyclops!!! Helps with the legibility of the date, a lot. Mine is a Marvelight II Black. FWIW, I have 6.5in wrists. The photo distorts the size somewhat due to the perspective.
