Number of Official Railroad Line Watches

    Hi there,

As a newbie to the forum and to Ball Watches (rocking my first--Engineer II Moon Phase with stainless bracelet), I was wondering if there is a comprehensive list/photos of all the Limited Edition Ball watches that feature a specific railroad line. I've seen the Conrail and B&O but that's about it. From reading some of the stickies on the forum it looks like there may be a 'Official Railroad Watches' thread somewhere on the forums but no amount of searching will produce it.

So if anyone has a list or can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

I've also seen the Flying Scotsman and the UP Big Boy LE watches.

I have not seen one, but that means nothing......

Have you looked on the Ball site? They have some good information if you look around.

If Timefleas, our resident Ball expert member here responds to this thread, that is the correct answer.

Enjoy your watch. They are a great brand.

Don’t forget the various Illinois versions.

I have that blue dialed version of the Engineer II moon phase. Pretty amazing albeit heavy watch, when compared to my Fireman Glory. I love both.

I kind of hate limited editions as they are marketing gimmicks to charge more in almost every brand.

I have too many watches already and have been downsizing but I would buy another Ball if I sold 2-3 others. I just don’t know which model. I do like the lightweight of the Fireman, but might look at the redo of Master Engineer, but that MSRP is far too high.

I’m fine with a non chronometerETA based movement too.

Don't think there is comprehensive list, and the edges become somewhat blurred in determining whether they are "official" or not, but in addition to the ones already mentioned (including them in my list) the Railway-inspired models that come to my mind include the following (not all 'special' or 'limited editions'), mostly Trainmasters, but some Fireman:

    • B&O (Baltimore and Ohio)
    • Canadian RR Ltd
    • Cannonball
    • Cleveland Express
    • Conrail
    • Flying Scotsman
    • GCS (Grand Central Station)
    • L&I (Louisville & Indiana)
    • Moonlight Special
    • Ohio (several)
    • Santa Fe
    • UP (Union Pacific)

Probably are more, but that should be a start. The site, "Righttime.com" has a good showcase of most of the discontinued Ball watches--easiest way to get to that showcase is simply doing a google search for "discontinued Ball watches".

Perfect, thank you. I stumbled onto righttime.com after I posted and found some of those you mentioned. I think your list is pretty comprehensive and what I was looking for.
