    The other Ball dive watch!?!?

    Hi Guys,

Here's one we don't see often:

Uni-directional bezel and WR to 200m. That clasp looks awefully Rolexlike...

Looks better in this pic than anywhere else.

Anyone have one? Know more about it?

    Thoughts?

I've been following that Inspector auction on ebay, but the watch is rated at only "good" condition by seller so I'm hesitant to seriously consider it --close up of caseback shows a fair amount of scratching/grime and I've already been burned twice by ebay watch sellers and inaccurate descriptions of "previously owned" fine watches. Very unique styling though--not a common Ball (in the US at least).

You never know who might be watching/bidding on a watch on eBay, or how angry they might get if you bring it up on WUS and draw more competition to the auction.

The reason I bring this is up is I made this same mistake some time ago in the Russian watch forum here on WUS, and practically got my head torn off by a couple of forum members that were bidders on the watch in question. I'd hate for that to happen to any of you guys!!

I understand Brian's thoughts here and I too have thought about commenting on running auctions, but we all know many of us are watching online auctions. I search the auction site several times a week for Ball watches as you never know what might turn up? I personally wouldn't start a thread here regarding Ball auctions, but I might reply if I was inclined to, especially if I thought I might help someone avoid a mistake. I agree though--auction talk should be kept to a minimum--this forum is not about what's up for sale as such, but more about exchanging info about something we all enjoy knowing more about--the Ball Watch Co. and their very fine timepieces.

Looks nice Marc The only thing I don't like is the way the bracelet connects to the case.. You can't put a standard strap on it if you wanted to.

    Cheers

The inspector is being discontinued, so if anyone wants one, I would have their dealers call and get one of the few remaining watches...

And the rules and guidelines do stated that only completed auctions can be linked onto a themed forum. So no active ebay listings or links here.

    I love it.

I even have one in my collection.

you think I can have one of each in my collection. right?

    nope.

    Cuz I have a wife.

She keeps me from having more than 10 to 12 watches at any one time.

I hear ya Jeff! If I wasn't married I'd be living in a cardboard box, with a computer and about 500 watches. Good thing she keeps me in line (and my collection down to a dozen or so). Watches are great, but a wife is better.
