Send watch in myself or through AD?

My COSC certified Spacemaster is running about 15 seconds slow per day. The watch was built in 2010. If I decide to send it to have it regulated, which I'm seriously considering, do I send it directly to Ball or to an AD, who I guess, would probably send it in anyway? Thanks.

    Call an AD.

Since it's out of warranty, I'd look for a good local watchmaker. I'd sent my TM Power Reserve to the SC in Fla--it is not a chronometer--and they told me it was within spec. I took it to a good watchmaker here and for $50 he fixed the isochronism problem and brought it within a couple seconds per day. At four years, you may be due for a service too.

Interesting. Do you know what he did to fix the isochronism problem?

I posted the issue on the WUS Watchmaking forum and got some great guidance which I shared with the watchmaker, but he said that the regulator pins were where he was going to start anyway. He provided the Witschi readout at full and half power.

Thanks guys, gtuck, I might have found a local guy to work on it. Going to try and visit him within the next week or so.

If you share your location, there are experienced guys on the forum who probably can give you some leads as well.

    Good luck!

I had good experience with watch service thru AD. Especially if you bought the watch from that AD. Sometimes cust service at the manufactures can be a nuisance and the AD will fight them on your behalf, because they want to keep you as a repeat customer.

Great suggestion, I just figured we are so worldwide here not likely, but Long Island, NY. No real interest in jackassing into NYC though. Thanks again for the suggestion...
