The watch I would love to see Ball make...

I have been yearning for a Ball watch to fit these specifications... Ball, PLEASE make it...

    42mm Hydrocarbon Engineer case style.
    All SS, no titanium.
Heavy clasp as seen on Ball Alligator.
    Black face.
Big tube hour indices as used on the GMT II, no arabic numbers.
    Day and Date at 3.
200m WR to keep thickness and weight reasonable.
Minimal type on the face to keep it clean and simple.

I'll send you my deposit right now if you make it.

    My turn:

I want the new Fireman Night Train with the 100 lumes in the 43 mm diameter, but with two changes:

    1. Coat the crown with PVD also; and

    2. Do the 12, 3, 6, & 9 as Arabic numbers like on my "Mad Cow" but with the superlume.

And then sign me up for the first one.

I can say that the fireman night train is almost perfect. I'd do the "12" in orange, and the hands in green though. That way you get every single color tritium tube.

me, i'm just waiting for that master diver II chronograph to come out!

a somewhat thinner master diver with GMT function would be cool, too. in titanium.

heck, while we're at it... how about a titanium hydrocarbon, 42mm x 13mm thick with the crown mechanism at 9 o'clock?

    Me, I'd like a Mad Cow GMT...but I'm crazy! That'd be 44mm!

Or a new Hydrocarbon Diver in Ti/StaSt using one of the larger ETA movements (ie Valgranges).

    Hey,
Keep the ideas coming! It's always fun to see what new features we can dream up.

    This is interesting:

    1. higher magnetic resistance, at least 80,000 A/m. I think the ultimate solution would be using all parts that won't be magnetised.
    2. make all tritium gas tube in 100 millicurie. I like to know the time in total dark environment, the clean dial and numeric on 12, 3, 6 and 9 make the time reading easy ("mad cow")
    3. DLC coating, looks way much cooler than other tool watches, probably can look into other tougher materials, like those ceramic mixture etc.
    4. technology to prevent moisture or fogging when going from one extreme temperature to another?
    5. improvement on the current shock resistant.
    6. combination of flip lock + omega type of push button lock (example: seiko skx779), more secure. My "mad cow" bracelet was open when I was playing baseball.

    That's all for now.
    Thanks for looking.

    7. align the 'date' & 'day' and window so that they are shown in the centre of the windows.

    Hi Jeremy,
Just another free opinion/suggestion... the rubber strap that is currently being sold with the master diver doesn't really do it for me. I think a curved-end, fitted strap would integrate much better with the overall clean, high-tech design of the watch. A curved-end leather strap for the watch would be great too. Just a thought. Thanks for checking the forum and listening to our ideas!
    Best,
    Ray

Re: The watch I would love to see Ball make...

I know I already contributed my idea, but I would like to make another point.I, like many people, have purchased Panerai watches. The dive watch I'm wearing at this moment (nowhere near a diving zone) is 47 mm, Panerai is a rapidly growing brand. I think the move into the 44-47 mm dials is catching on with all the brands as the baby boomers retire their Rolex Daytonas with subdials we can no longer see, and replace them with larger, clear, legible, well lumed watches. If Ball would do something like a Panerai 44 or 45 mm dial, with 100 millicurie tubes, including a clear centered sweep second hand (like the one on my Mad Cow), and the 12, 3, 6 & 9 done in tubes (again like my Mad Cow) but on a less thick watch (like the Ionosphere), I think you'd sell them all day long. Most of us don't want to charge watches up at night, but we do want the larger watches.
