    Watch for Wife

Years ago my wife and I had matching Seiko quartz watches, stainless with a snowflake effect dial, that looked rather elegant. Unfortunately they did not hold up well and are long gone.

Recently I found this sale at Jomashop for a ladies ball

Today I found this sale for a men's Fireman, almost a perfect match, looks like position of the date differs but that's ok

So have both on the way, nothing fancy but just a classic style.

To match them, look for the Fireman Enterprise. Just bought the same one for my wife through timepiece.com since it was a bit less. She loves it, especially since I had a local Rolex repair shop add a magnifier like the mens version. Great looking watches for sure.

Enjoy your watches! I am sure that you found the perfect his & hers pairing and it will last for a long time.

I briefly looked at the Enterprise. I do not care for the cyclops, and the price was so much more than the model I found, after a few other things this season, like having to replace a big screen TV that was dying fast, that it would have been out of my price range.

I have a Fireman Racer and love the cyclops. It's big and easy to read. In general, I find date windows to be too small, usually too small to read at a glance.

I like the pair you picked--they do match really well--and like you, I wouldn't want the Cyclops--in fact, don't really need the date at all, but that's another thread--enjoy them both in good health!

Do people not realize the date magnifiers are only adhered by UV glue? Any competent jeweler can remove them as easily as they can be added.

    Re: Watch for Wife

I have one watch with a cyclops, a Glycine DC 4 GMT watch. The annoying thing I notice is that you must have the watch face orientated at an almost perfect 90 degrees to your face to read it with any distortion, orient it properly and the date pops.

She opened the box and was thourghly surprised and delighted, especially that I found two so closely matching. She had taken over an old Lumniox I had and like the lume but it had gotten so old that the tubes have gone dim, and I had looked quite a bit for one that was a bit more feminine and lucked out when Jomashop had them on sale.

Congrats! Sounds like she liked it. Now you can post his & hers on the forums.

I ordered the black dialed version for my girlfriend. Definitely update with a pic of the white faced dial.
