    Comparable to in which way? IMO...

    Price --> Oris, Omega

    Fit/Finish --> Omega, Tag Heuer

    Prestige --> ? Ball still isn't known as well as other brands to a majority of the public

    Might I throw Doxa into the hat? Specificly the 800TI, it has tubes, fit and finish is superb, great quality, and equally matches Ball dollar for dollar IMHO. Right up there is Ocean7 as well.

    I think Omega is a good comparison fit and finish wise along with timekeeping. All of my Ball watches kept COSC time and at 1 time I owned 7 of them and fit and finish were superb. I love and own Doxas but I don't think they are in the same league fit and finish wise. Doxas are purpose built tool watches whos owners aren't the type to stare at the fit and finish of thier watches-just the time. Ocean7 is not in the same league as Ball in any category. Looks wise I don't know what compares to a Ball watch. The EHC series is very unique.

    I would agree with that...I think both brands have similar characteristics:

    Both are quality brands that present good bang for the buck in the mid-high end swiss watch segment. Both are also somewhat obscure and unknown to the average non-wis as well.

    I really do not see the comparison as a whole to Omega as some others have mentioned....

    I deal with all the brands mentioned and very honestly would reflect them in a rack and stack based on quality, features and company support.

    They are all "good watches" but when I review all the details about the various watches I have to stack them...

    1) Ball
    2) Omega (this brand can be in position 1 sometimes depending on the exact model).
    3) Tag Heuer
    4) Oris

    I would be happy to discuss my reasoning behind this with anyone just call me.

    I'm a lurker here. I've admired Ball for quite a while. Although I do not own one, I appreciate that which makes Ball different. And I do have a Ball on my short list btw :>)

    Because of their unique approach to Lume and the way they integrate the gas tubes into their designs, I see Ball watches as a stand alone brand. You either like the approach and want to have as many as you can, or you don't.

    In terms of fit and finish, every Ball watch I have handled has appeared to be quite well made, on a par with other watch brands in their respective price categories. In terms of movements, they are, again, quite comparable to higher profile manufacturers.

    Mt criteria is that I look at design and function first, price second, comfort third,
    movement fourth and name on the dial last. Why last? because there are just too many fine watch companies out there that don't have the huge marketing dollars but build outstanding time pieces.
    IMHO of course....
