    The 140 / 142 Thread - Pictures and Comments

In the late 90's I was living in Japan. Every day I would walk past a small watch shop in Umeda Station in Osaka. The carried both Fortis and Sinn watches, and I became enamored with both the "space watches," the Fortis Classic Cosmonaut and the Sinn 142. I ended up buying the Fortis. While I love my late 90's Classic Cosmonaut, I have always regretted not buying the Sinn 142.

To me, the 140 / 142 (along with the 103) are the cornerstones of the Sinn lineup. There are a lot of other iconic Sinn models like the 156, 157 and 144, but to me, the 140 / 142 epitomizes everything that makes Sinn great. With that in mind, I would like to start a thread for folks to share their pics and thoughts on this "most classic" of all Sinn watches.

Unfortunately, I don't currently own a 142 so I cannot post a picture. The next watch I buy will be a Lemania 142, probably titanium, and I promise to post pictures as soon as it arrives!

Great thread - thanks for starting. I agree- the 142 is the ultimate Sinn watch.
I especially like the version with matte, beadblasted finish and no pusher guards. I've been lucky enough to bag one that also has the (later) matte caseback with larger and more detailed inscription - technically probably this would make the watch a "put-together", but I couldn't care less .
Here are a couple of pictures of my beauty:
